Orioles all-star Adam Jones is an on the field favorite. Now, he’s lending his voice to a campaign aimed at keeping Marylanders healthy.
“There’s a new way for people who do not have health insurance to get low cost or free coverage,” says Jones in a radio campaign.
The radio campaign promotes affordable healthcare–urging Marylanders to enroll in the state’s healthcare exchange.
“Over 190 thousand people have already enrolled since November the 15th, but i know we can do even better with Adam Jones at bat,” said Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake.
“Pick up the phone and call 2-1-1 or go to the website,http://www.marylandhealthconnection.gov, to enroll,” Jones said.
Jones also took some time to sign autographs
“There are still Marylanders out there who can enroll in healthcare and don’t know about it and need to do so.”
“We shouldn’t have patients dying because they don’t have insurance. We shouldn’t have profits above people,” said Dr. Leana Wen, Baltimore City Health Commissioner.
