Baltimore, MD (January 27, 2015) – On Friday, January 30th at 2pm at the headquarters of HealthCare Access Maryland, 201 E. Baltimore Street, 10th Floor, Baltimore Orioles Superstar Adam Jones will hold a press conference with health care advocates and state officials to announce a new radio ad featuring Jones urging Marylanders to call 211 or go to MarylandHealthConnection.gov to find out about their eligibility for health care coverage. The ads are sponsored by the Maryland Health Care For All! Coalition and will run through the end of open enrollment on February 15.

Mr. Jones will be joined at the press conference by Baltimore Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, Attorney General Brian Frosh, Carolyn Quattrocki, Executive Director of the Maryland Health Benefit Exchange; Vincent DeMarco, President of the Maryland Health Care For All! Coalition, Kathleen Westcoat, Executive Director of HealthCare Access Maryland; and Baltimore City Health Commissioner Dr. Leana Wen.

“I am proud to have a role in helping Marylanders find out what health benefits are available to them,” said Orioles outfielder and four-time All-Star Adam Jones. “It is important and our message is simple: Call 211 or go to MarylandHealthConnection.gov to learn more about your health benefit options.”

“We thank Adam for doing this very important ad,” Quattrocki said. “Together, we will get the word out to all eligible Marylanders, including many young people in their 20s and 30s who need quality, affordable coverage.”

“We are thrilled that Adam will be urging Marylanders to call 211 to find out about health benefits available to them.” DeMarco said. “Maryland’s health insurance marketplace is working very well with over 190,000 people enrolled since November.”

”It is great that as a respected and known community member, Adam is using his voice to promote the importance of getting covered,” Westcoat said.
