It was disappointing that Robert McCartney’s April 13 Metro column, “Brown takes credit in making Md. ‘national leader’ in health care? What gall!,” made no mention of the fact thatapproximately 300,000 Marylanders have enrolled in health-care coverage under the Affordable Care Act — significantly exceeding the state’s goal of enrolling 260,000.
Yes, there have been serious problems with the Maryland health-care Web site, and they are being fixed. But we must not forget that we have achieved a tremendous public health success in Maryland. Let’s work together to build on that success.
