(Baltimore, MD.  April 28, 2014) Today, April 28th at 10:30am, at 2600 St Paul Street inBaltimore, three Marylanders who have benefited from the Affordable Care Act’s health care expansion, will announce that they are telling their stories through a new radio ad and a YouTube video.

The Maryland Citizens’ Health Initiative is buying radio time and publicizing a YouTube video to let Marylanders know about the success of the Affordable Care Act in expanding health care coverage to over 330,000 previously uninsured or underinsured people.  Nancy Hughes, Thomas Friedel, and Grace Miller will talk about how they and their families have benefited from the Affordable Care Act and will explain why they want to make sure Marylanders know their story.

We all acknowledge that the health exchange website has had problems, and we are glad that those problems are being resolved prior to the next open enrollment period in November.  But, it is critical that the people of Maryland know that the Affordable Care Act has been a tremendous public health success for hundreds of thousands of Marylanders

“Nancy, Tom and Grace represent the over 330,000 Marylanders who have benefited greatly from the success of the Affordable Care Act health care expansion in Maryland,” said Vincent DeMarco, President of the Maryland Citizens’ Health Initiative.  “They are telling their stories through radio and YouTube so that Marylanders know that the Affordable Care Act has been a tremendous public health success in our state.”
