Vincent DeMarco, president of the Maryland HealthCare for All! Coalition, released the following statement in response to today’s announcement from the White House about Medicare negotiating lower costs for prescription drugs:
““Today President Joe Biden announced the ten drugs whose prices will be negotiated by Medicare under the Inflation Reduction Act. This is a great step forward in helping Americans on Medicare afford their drugs. This list will provide critical guidance to Maryland’s landmark Prescription Drug Affordability Board as they decide how to choose drugs which they can make more affordable for all Marylanders. We thank President Biden for this historic achievement which will improve the lives of millions of Americans. We look forward to building on this progress here in Maryland.”
