“Maryland regulators voted Monday to cap what government health plans pay for the Type 2 diabetes drug Jardiance, a move officials say will sharply cut costs for taxpayers and could expand statewide.
The Maryland Prescription Drug Advisory Board approved a payment limit of $197 per month for Jardiance, down from its $573 list price — a 66% reduction. The board estimates the cap will save state and local governments about $320,000 annually.”
““The board has done a great job leading up to this,” Vincent DeMarco, president of the Maryland Citizens’ Health Initiative, told The Baltimore Sun. “What they’re doing is going to save state and municipal governments, and ultimately all Marylanders, a lot of money.”
